Based in the Wellington region Hamish has been advising and designing modern, practical and thoughtful architecture throughout the Greater Wellington region for 20+ years.
Designing new homes and alterations across the Greater Wellington region has been so rewarding over the last 20 years. Creating architecture that fits naturally into Wellington City, Porirua, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, and the surrounding areas is always challenging and satisfying.
Wellington presents a different kind of challenge to many coastal areas. Steep sites, tight access, established neighbourhoods, and changing planning rules all play a role.
Good design here is about working with those constraints to unlock the best of each site, sun, views, shelter, and privacy, while ensuring homes are durable and comfortable over time.
