Senior Revit technician

HWA is a small bespoke architectural practice in Porirua with a focus on delivering for clients in the residential sector. We’re at the beginning of a significant growth phase, winning projects and solving tricky design problems for clients throughout the wider Wellington region. Our ambitions are to continue extending the scope and scale of our projects over the next five years.

To help us achieve that we’re looking for someone exceptional to add value to our current residential services and assist with meeting our ambitions to deliver large scale residential projects through maximisation of our digital capabilities.

The Senior Technician in this role will be an energetic and technically minded person who can perform the documentation phases of architectural work from design approval through to consent and on-site contractor support.

There will be an opportunity to work both individually and within a wider team depending on project size and complexity and have an expert knowledge of building products, construction detailing and compliance regulations.

This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with the full range of people involved in architectural practice and the construction industry, from clients and colleagues through to sales and tradespeople on site.

The Senior Technician will be a critical member of our expanding team and will be a representative of the practice. High ethical standards, good judgement and leadership, and be a ‘positive’ influence within the practice is essential to the success of the role.

 

Our expectation is the Senior Technician will work proactively to look after our current clients and when opportunity exists take the initiative to develop and secure new projects and clients for the practice.

In order to excel in this role the ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong Revit Architecture skills,

  • Strong Inter-personal skills,

  • A thorough understanding of how the Building Code and New Zealand Standards work,

  • A track record of being pro-active,

  • The desire to prepare exceptional technical documentation in a timely manner.

  • Some working knowledge of Grasshopper and Dynamo

Continuous Incremental Improvement is key to our success. As the successful candidate you can expect to:

  • Work closely with the principal designer,

  • Be exposed to VR, AR, BIM, AI and relevant training,

  • Gain exposure to on-going professional development,

  • Gain an insight into the running of an architectural practice,

  • Have exposure to clients and construction sites.

Depending on your career progression to date we will assist in the pathways of licensing and/or registration or qualifications in other areas of interest relevant to our industry.
