Intermediate Revit technician

If you have come back to work in 2020 with a resolution to change up your work place and gain experience in areas you may not have access too in your current role then we have a position available for you right now. 

 

HWA is a small bespoke architectural practice based in the convenient Hartham Street South precinct in Porirua with a focus on delivering for clients in the residential sector. We’re at the beginning of a significant growth phase, winning projects and solving tricky design problems for clients throughout the wider Wellington region. Our ambitions are to continue extending the scope and scale of our projects over the next five years.

To help us achieve that we’re looking for someone exceptional to add value to our current residential services preparing documentation for residential alterations and suburban homes in particular.

The Intermediate Technician in this role will be an energetic and technically minded person who can complete the documentation phases of residential architectural work from design approval through to consent approval and on-site contractor support.

The role has a modest level of autonomy and provides an opportunity to be a key influence within a small team. A moderate knowledge of building products, construction detailing and compliance regulations will be required.

This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with the full range of people involved in architectural practice and the construction industry, from clients and colleagues through to sales and tradespeople on site.

The Intermediate Technician will be a critical member of our expanding team and will be a representative of the practice. The candidate will need to present with high ethical standards, good judgement, and be a ‘positive’ influence within the practice. 

Our expectation is the Intermediate Technician will work proactively to meet deadlines, offer solutions to common problems and when opportunity exists take the initiative to develop in-office standards and support services within the practice.

In order to excel in this role the ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong Revit Architecture skills,

  • Strong Inter-personal skills,

  • A thorough understanding of how the Building Code and New Zealand Standards work,

  • A track record of being pro-active,

  • The desire to prepare exceptional technical documentation in a timely manner.

Continuous Incremental Improvement is key to our success. As the successful candidate you can expect to:

  • Work closely with the principal designer,

  • Be exposed to VR, AR, BIM, AI and relevant training,

  • Gain exposure to on-going professional development,

  • Gain an insight into the running of an architectural practice,

  • Have exposure to clients and construction sites.

Depending on your career progression to date we will assist in the pathways of licensing and/or registration or qualifications in other areas of interest relevant to our industry.
