CG Artist

HWA is a small bespoke architectural practice based in Porirua with a focus on delivering for clients in the residential sector. We’re at the beginning of a significant growth phase, winning projects and solving tricky design problems for clients throughout the wider Wellington region. Our ambitions are to continue expanding the scope and scale of our projects over the next five years.

To help us achieve our goals we’re looking for someone exceptional to add value to our current residential services and assist in our ambition to win and deliver large scale residential projects efficiently through the maximisation of our digital presentation capabilities.

The Artist in this role will be an energetic and creative person with an interest in architecture who can perform within the creative phases of architectural work from project inception through to design sign off. We anticipate this person working alongside an Architect or designer within the studio to enable the delivery of concepts and documentation to rival any architectural firm. 

There will be an opportunity to work both individually and within a wider team depending on project size and complexity. The ideal candidate will have some construction knowledge particularly around building products, a keen eye for beautiful construction detailing and be a wizard at rendering and working within the adobe creative suite.

This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with the full range of people involved in architectural practice and the construction industry, from clients and colleagues through to sales and tradespeople on site.

The Artist will be a critical member of our expanding team and will be a representative of the practice. High ethical standards, good judgement, leadership qualities, and the ability to be a ‘positive’ influence within the practice is essential to the success of the role.

Our expectation is the Artist will work proactively to support our design staff in developing new client relationships and deepening existing relationships.

In order to excel in this role the ideal candidate will have:

  • An understanding of Revit Architecture,

  • Strong Inter-personal skills and the ability to network,

  • A track record of being pro-active and delivering for clients when it counts,

  • The desire to compete with the best in respect to delivering outstanding client service, inspiring design outcomes

Continuous Incremental Improvement is key to our success. As the successful candidate you can expect to:

  • Work closely with the principal designer,

  • Be integral in the success of the practice,

  • Be exposed to VR, AR, BIM, AI and relevant training,

  • Continue with your on-going professional development,

  • Gain an insight into the running of an architectural practice,

  • Have exposure to clients and construction sites.
